Club Policies
The policies below are put into place by the Executive Committee on behalf of the club. These policies are approved by a majority vote of the Executive Committee once final language for them is drafted. A vote of approval from the General Membership is not required. However, the General Membership may make a motion to strike down any one of these policies, and if that passes, the policy is no longer valid.
Policy 2012-1: Rules On Use of the Membership Roster
1. The membership roster is the exclusive property of the DemVets.
2. The membership roster and all of the information included in it shall not be provided in any format to anyone outside of the club and shall furthermore not be readily available to the general membership of the club.
3. Use of the membership roster of the Club shall be determined by a majority vote of the Executive Committee (EC).
4. Candidates and other groups who request that information be sent to members of the Club will furnish the Club with that information and postage paid envelopes, upon which the Club may put its address labels. Such a request requires the approval of the EC.
5. Only Candidates who are endorsed by the club will be provided the services outlined in section 4.
6. Other officers of the club who wish to disseminate information shall provide the same to the Membership Chair, who will then see to it that proper distribution is carried out.

1. The President, or the President’s designee, may authorize and make expenditures of up to $100 without the prior approval of the Executive Committee (EC) or General Membership. This may also be done one time for a repeating expenditure.
2. The EC may authorize expenditures of up to $500 without the prior approval of the General Membership. This shall be done by simple majority vote. This may also be done one time for a repeating expenditure.
3. The General Membership may authorize expenditures of any amount. This shall be done by simple majority vote. This may also be done one time for a repeating expenditure.
4. Any member may submit expenditures for approval to the President (Up to $100), the EC ($100‐$500) or the General Membership (Over $500). Written justification of the expenditure shall accompany the request.
5. Events that were approved with a budget may get their expenditures approved by the President or Treasurer regardless of their amount, as long as the amount is not in excess of the previously approved budget for the event.
6. No expenditure shall be authorized to benefit a candidate or cause that the Club has not voted to support, or to oppose a candidate or cause where the Club has not taken a position in that race or on that issue.
