The Committees
There are several committees of the DemVets, each one tasked with an important area to manage for the organization. Below, you will find a brief description of each one of them.
The Executive Committee
This committee consists of all of the elected and appointed officers. It is a planning committee that meets monthly for the purpose of planning the next meeting’s overall agenda and governing the club on behalf of the members. While this committee is given the ability to influence the other elements of the DemVets, it does not produce any specific resolutions or other official decisions for the Club. This committee is chaired by the Club President.
The Membership Committee
This committee is tasked with the handling of all new membership applications, member specific issues, social events for the membership and other tasks as assigned in the Constitution and Bylaws or by the Executive Committee. This committee is currently chaired by VACANT.
The Fundraising Committee
This committee is tasked with the planning of events for fundraising purposes and any other fundraising elements. It will also handle all other tasks as assigned in the Constitution and Bylaws or by the Executive Committee. This committee is currently chaired by VACANT.
The Campaign Services Committee
This committee shall be tasked with the running of the endorsement process, different services to be provided to the candidates that have successfully become endorsed by the DemVets. It will also handle all other tasks as assigned in the Constitution and Bylaws or by the Executive Committee. This committee is currently chaired by Chris Brieno.
The Communications Committee
This committee shall be tasked with the running of the different communications of the club internally and externally. This includes media, social media, and monthly newsletters. It will also handle all other tasks as assigned in the Constitution and Bylaws or by the Executive Committee. This committee is currently chaired by the 2nd Vice President.
The Legislation Committee
This committee shall be tasked with researching what matters are before all Local Governments in the County and ensuring that their effect on Veterans is known by those voting on them. It will also handle all other tasks as assigned in the Constitution and Bylaws or by the Executive Committee. This committee is chaired by the Legal Officer.
